JUST
WHO IS Isabella ANYWAY?

It started out a long time ago with an inquisitive rabbit
we named "Bella". She got so plump and glossy consuming our
gourmet lettuces! We'd seen her trying to fit under the fence Peter
Rabbit style and she became the exclamation "it's a bella bunny".
So you see. But then, the magic happened when late one night
I was reading one of my old books and the page fell open to:
Gardner, Isabella

This got my attention! ...Social leader and art collector.
(1840-1924). OK, I am riveted. (skipping over the social
part) I also have an art background and enjoy collecting.
It turns out she was outspoken at times. Well.
One afternoon Isabella was received by one of New York's social
powerhouses... "The queen of the white city" Mrs. Potter Palmer
in her battlemented castle. She summed up her feelings of social
splendor when shown the pantry. Mrs. Potters eighteen year
old son exhibited gold and silver plates and endless towers of
porcelain dishes ... "Mother has fifty of everything" said he.
"What Does she Do," asked Isabella, "when she has a really
Big party?" There it is. It is the spirit of individualism and
the love of beauty that best describes Isabellas Garden.
